Gopi N. Vemuri, Ph.D.

Gopi hails from Hyderabad, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from Miami University in Ohio, where he was supervised by Prof. Scott Hartley. He investigated the folding behavior of ortho-phenylene oligomers through external functionalization. His research in our group focuses on the development of nonviral vectors for nucleic acid delivery. He spends most of his free time outdoors, primarily hiking and playing volleyball.

Phil Tripoli

Phil is a junior at the Univeristy of San Diego majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Asian Studies. He plans to go to medical school and become an internist. He is researching the synthesis of borylated terpenes.

Isabella Incaviglia

Izzy is a senior at the Univeristy of San Diego and is double majoring in Biochemistry and Italian Studies. Upon graduation from USD, she plans to pursue a career in the medical field. Currently, she is working on the synthesis of antimicrobial hydrogels in the lab. Izzy has been working with the Iovine lab since spring 2020.

Parker O'Connell

Parker is a junior at the University of San Diego and is studying Biochemistry. She plans to pursue a career in healthcare. She is currently researching the synthesis of borylated terpenes in the lab.

Josh Marquez

Josh is a senior at the University of San Diego and is studying Biochemistry. He plans to get a job in industry after graduation and possibly pursue a PhD. Josh began working with the Iovine lab in fall of 2019 and has spent his time researching various projects.
